WILMINGTON, DE, September 22, 2006 . . . Hercules Incorporated (NYSE: HPC) will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Hercules Research Center on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. A full day of activities is planned including the formal dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Paper Applications Laboratory, the newest addition to the Research Center site. Following the dedication, guests will be invited to participate in open house tours of the facility. The event will conclude with technology presentations conducted by research leaders.

The Paper Applications Laboratory is the initial phase of a significant investment by Hercules to revitalize the Research Center. The investments also include renovations to existing laboratory operations.
