Aqualon Division of Hercules Incorporated Completes Integration of Pinova’s Vinsol Business Unit

January 26, 2007...Hercules Incorporated today announced that it has completed the integration of its Pinova (formerly Hercules Resins) business unit into the Aqualon division. Pinova’s Vinsol product line for the asphalt emulsion and concrete markets has been integrated into the Aqualon Construction Segment and will continue to be manufactured in the Brunswick, GA facility. Aqualon’s global reach and complimentary technologies will help ensure continued success for Pinova products in the construction segment. The combined business will operate under the Aqualon name.

For years the Aqualon and Pinova businesses have been very successful in innovating for their customers, consistently bringing new functional additives to the construction market. Pinova’s line of Vinsol resins provide benefits to asphalt emulsions used in paving and waterproofing and in concrete for resistance to cracking during freezing. The integration of the businesses will provide customers with a broader portfolio of products used in cross-market areas of construction.

The combined Aqualon construction business will serve customers from 9 major manufacturing locations in Europe, North America, and Asia. The Aqualon division of Hercules Incorporated is the most diverse cellulose ether manufacturer globally and serves the food, personal care, pharmaceutical, energy, coatings, and construction markets.
