Dividends

On July 23, 2007, the Board of Directors of Hercules Incorporated declared a quarterly cash dividend payment of five cents ($0.05) per share, payable on October 19, 2007, to shareholders of record on September 28, 2007. For most shareholders, Mellon Investor Services, LLC, Hercules Transfer Agent will be handling the payment and tax reporting of these dividends. Also, the new Investor Services Program will be introduced and will supersede the existing Dividend Reinvestment Plan. The Investor Services Program will make it easier for you to reinvest dividends and to purchase, hold, and sell shares of Hercules common stock.

Dividend Reinvestment Plan Participants
Any shareholder that is enrolled in Hercules Automatic Dividend Reinvestment Plan will automatically be enrolled in the new Investor Services Program.  Quarterly dividends (beginning with the dividend payable on October 19, 2007) will be reinvested as per your previous election. If you wish to implement any of the new features of the Program or for more information, contact Mellon Investor Services at (800) 237-9980 or at the link below.

New Plan Participants
For any shareholder who wishes to participate in the Investor Services Program, you may enroll starting on or about October 22, 2007 and begin reinvesting with your next quarterly dividend payment. An enrollment authorization will be provided with your first dividend check.
