Volunteerism Serving the Community Where We Live and Work |
||
|
On October 18, 2007, members of the Aqualon Management Committee as well as several administrative assistants kept their promise to return to UrbanPromise in support of the community work being done there. They were greeted by the organization’s leader and former Hercules employee, Rob Prestowitz, at a newly-acquired property which includes both a church and a staff house. Meeting with the team in the church, Rob explained how one day in the near future that room would be a gym, thanks to efforts from companies like Aqualon. After Rob spoke of the dreams of the children that he encounters, he was pleasantly surprised when John Panichella, Aqualon’s President, handed Rob a contribution of $5,000 on behalf of Hercules Incorporated and Aqualon in ongoing support of UrbanPromise. From there, the afternoon was one of work…ripping down ceilings, cleaning out the church kitchen, mowing and trimming the grass and more. Aqualon will be back at UrbanPromise again during the holidays so keep your eyes and ears open…the Aqualon Giving Tree is right around the corner.
