Community Involvement
Plant Community Outreach Activities
Many Hercules facilities partner with local schools in
educational and mentoring projects. They also provide tours for organized
groups periodically and host Open House Days for schools and local
residents. This is a good way to give community members an opportunity to
learn about Hercules and educate them on how the products we make are
essential2 their every day lives.
Portland Plant An "All
Star" in United Way Campaign
Since 2005, our Portland United Way campaign
has grown in the amounts received and the number of contributors.
Contributions increased 69% from 2005 to 2006, and in 2007 increased 31%.
“We were recognized as one of the "all stars" in the 2007 campaign in
addition to the Wilmington area and the Hopewell plant," Plant Manager
John Prevost said.

Hercules Franklin Plant
Helps High School Robotics Team
The Hercules Franklin Plant sponsored their local high
school in the NASA Regional Robotics Competition and employees acted as
mentors for the team. The competition is designed to make science, math,
engineering and technology as cool for kids as sports.

Hercules MCW Plant Hosts
Field Trip for Students
Our Missouri Chemicals Works Plant hosts an annual field
trip for local grade school students. The students learn about products that
MCW manufactures and their uses in everyday life. They tour the plant and
learn how MCW is committed to safety and the environment.
