Community Involvement
Volunteerism
Our employees help create stronger communities by
building partnerships with organizations that offer various resources to
meet human needs. Here are just some examples of how our employees are
committed to making a difference in the world through actively participating
in community projects; raising money to help find cures for diseases;
feeding the homeless; working in impoverished areas; helping rebuild after
disasters; and acting as role models and mentors to children and young
adults.

Hercules donated $20,000 to help fund East Side
Charter's summer field trip programs for students.

Aqualon Technician Assists
with Drinking Water Purification in Chinese Earthquake Area
Alexander Kindler is a research technician
at Aqualon's R&D laboratory in Düsseldorf, Germany. He is also a member of
the "Technisches Hilfswerk - THW" a federal
agency providing technical assistance at home and humanitarian aid abroad in
disaster areas.

"Day Away": One Life
- Do Something
World Vision, in collaboration with the
Singapore Health Promotion Board, is raising public awareness of the AIDS
pandemic the launch of the
One
Life project.
Employees from our Singapore office used their community involvement "day
away" to participate in the event.

A Welcoming Learning Environment
Hercules, which has a mentoring partnership
with East Side Charter School, contributed $25,000 to a newly renovated
library for the school.

mentoring initiative.

Corporate 2007 United Way
Campaign
The campaign's theme this year was
"Touchdown for United Way" kicked off with a rally and presentation by Kevin
Reilly, former Eagles linebacker and radio personality. More than
$238,000 was raised for United Way of Delaware.

American Heart Association
In 2007, Hercules ranked 9th as a
fundraiser out of 37 local companies in the annual Delaware American Heart
Association Walk.

“Bike to the Bay” for Multiple Sclerosis
For the past several years, Hercules employees in
Wilmington have participated in the annual two-day “Bike to the Bay” event
to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. This year they raised more the
$15,000.

Hercules Receives Award
from Local Blood Bank
CEO Craig Rogerson recently accepted the Red Drop Award from the Blood Bank
of Delmarva. The award was presented to 18 out of 2300 local employers.
Hercules received the award because of our strong membership and for
encouraging employees to donate blood.

"Making Strides Against
Breast Cancer"
On a crisp fall morning in October, 27
Hercules employees from the Wilmington locations joined the ranks of over
5800 walkers and racers for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer Walk" in Wilmington, Delaware.

Running for a Good Cause
The Roparun Foundation funds cancer related
projects at hospitals, hospices, recreational bungalows of the
foundation and other projects which are related to this special goal…
improving the last phase of the life of terminally ill people.
Hercules employees in Zwindjrecht, the Netherlands, participate in a 534km
race each year to raise money.

Easter Seals Volleyball
Challenge
Hercules participates in this annual Delaware event through corporate
sponsorship and team fundraising efforts. In 2006, more than 200 teams
representing 50 companies participated, raising a total of $300,000. A
Hercules team captain was the third top individual fundraiser. (rest

Elisa Maria Community - Brazil
For the past few years, employees of Hercules Brazil have
been involved with the Elisa Maria Community, an extremely impoverished area
in Sao Paulo. They donate food, clothes, shoes, blankets, toys and books.
Recently, they obtained a wheelchair for a young girl.

Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
Hercules employees responded generously to a
corporate-wide fundraising campaign. Together with a corporate match,
$50,000 was raised for relief efforts. They also gave their personal time,
and in some cases, are still involved in volunteer efforts to rebuild the
Gulf Coast region. Here are a few of their stories:
Katrina Relief
Production supervisors at our Hattiesburg plant
personally delivered a check for $10,000 from Hercules to the director
of the Pine Belt regional office of the American Red Cross. Hercules was

A Hercules employee used his “Day Away” and a week of
personal vacation working with the Livingston Parish Office of Homeland
Security and Emergency Preparedness in post-Katrina relief efforts.

Mentoring
Hercules has partnered with Warner Elementary School to mentor students for
many years. In 2006, Hercules renovated the mentoring room, supplying
computers, desks, chairs and library books. The children wrote thank you
letters to our CEO. Some were short but sweet..."I LOVE Hercules." (Rest

Urban Promise Wilmington
Urban Promise Wilmington addresses issues of poverty,
poor education, and a lack of role models that cut urban youth off from
opportunity. Volunteers from our Aqualon group are partnering with Urban
Promise to help those in need.
